SimulBot Beta Program Now Accepting Affiliate Sims

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

We are now accepting applicants for affiliate sims in our SimulBot Beta program.
Overview: Over a year ago, John Hurliman brought a rock band of 5 into SL, and managed to “simulSim” them on 12 sims to escape the agent limitations of a single sim in simultaneous performances across the grid. This was a benchmark for […]

Miniproduction: Live Scene 1 - Script

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

Later today, I’ll post a rough promptbook adapted for this medium right about (here - unmarked and marked).
Someone pointed out that the internet sources of the text of Hamlet have “Barnardo” spelled as “Bernardo.” I have been using the Folger’s edition, which has the first folio spelling.

Act 1 Scene 1 Character Sketches

Monday, November 26th, 2007

I should probably have made these sketches available far before now, as I’m typically meticulous in details even for minor characters. I like having every character in medias reas—such that every character, however minor, has an evident backstory. I also like having long discussions over each character—but, since it seems like I most turn into […]

Viz Treats: Trailer and Machinima for Scene 1, SSC Company Site

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

3 viz treats for you in midseason.

A teaser/cinematic-ish preview (2MB preloading .swf). Voice: Kronos Kirkorian Music by Heath Elvehjem.
Storyboard (25 MB .mov Quicktime): what the “rough cut” has metamorphosed into.
Waiting for Enniv to remaster the sound for this. Scrolling Credits, sans Heath Elvehjem who sent in his credits/machinima music too late to make the scroll.
And, […]

Rough cut of machinima.
Since the live version will not have lip-syncing, a dynamic camera will be used to key the user’s cam to the speakers.  In a scene with multiple faces, the person speaking would have facial light turned on.

The 5 Guys in Scene 1

Friday, September 28th, 2007

Long time no post.
Well, when Ada told me that we should just go with June’s anime-style, I realized that there wasn’t enough time for the machinima for custom-made-everything (and that she wouldn’t be hurt if I executive-veto’ed her exact clothing suggestions).
With a liberal interpretation of history, and with more of an eye towards prettiness and […]

But, who’s who? (All skins are using the same shape. Eyes/hair/facial hair not yet matched. Just a brief glimpse; none might be used in the end.)

thoughts about recent email exchanges

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

Ina said, “there is actually a 2-4 times larger version of the Globe to be constructed for the actual performance.” OH GOODY!
Dolgo said there should be a real AV for the ghost–TOTALLY AGREE–if I may–I would like to insist on that!
Ina said, “Passing of beacon along is also a good symbolism,” to denote the […]
